Marilyn B. Neal, Chairman of the Board
Chairman of the Board Marilyn B. Neal has more than 35 years in the Yellow Pages industry, most recently as executive vice president and chief operating officer for Dex Media. There, she and her teams were responsible for 11 consecutive quarters of financial and operational leadership.
Prior to joining Dex, Neal served as a consultant for Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe and the Carlyle Group, the private equity consortium that purchased Dex in 2002. She spent the previous 29 years of her career with Verizon/GTE in a variety of leadership and sales positions including regional president for Verizon Information Services, senior vice president, vice president of international, vice president of quality and vice president of business development. In 1991, she challenged the organization to pursue the Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award, which it achieved in 1994.
Neal has served as a member of the board of directors of Chesapeake Directory Sales Corporation and the Association of Directory Marketing. Over the course of her career, she has been an active participant in the Yellow Pages Association.
John Almeida, Board Member
John Almeida is a general partner with Welsh, Carson, Anderson, & Stowe (WCAS), a New York private investment firm, which manages over $16 billion in various funds. Prior to joining WCAS in March 1999, he worked in the investment banking department of Lehman Brothers Inc. and at the private equity firm Westbury Capital Partners. Almeida holds a B.A. degree from Yale College. He is also a member of the board of directors of ITC^DeltaCom, Inc and Titan Outdoor Holdings, Inc.
Brion B. Applegate, Board Member
Brion B. Applegate joined Local Insight as a director upon the closing combination of CBD Media's combination with Local Insight in March 2007. He began his career in the private equity industry in 1979, co-founded Spectrum Equity Investors in 1993, and serves as general partner of various partnerships affiliated with Spectrum. He is currently a director of Nassau Broadcasting Partners, Inc., and prior directorships include American Cellular Corp., H.O. Systems, Inc., and PriCellular Corp. Applegate served as a director of CBD Media from March 2002 until March 2007. He received a B.A. degree from Colgate University and holds an M.B.A. degree from Harvard University.
Darren C. Battistoni, Board Member
Darren C. Battistoni is a senior associate with Welsh, Carson, Anderson, & Stowe (WCAS). Prior to joining WCAS in September 2002, he worked in investment banking for the media and telecommunications group of Credit Suisse First Boston. He holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a director of Centennial Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: CYCL) as well as several private companies.
Benjamin M. Coughlin, Board Member
Ben Coughlin is the managing director of Spectrum Equity Investors, which he joined in 1997. Prior to Spectrum, he worked as an Associate at Apax Partners in Munich, Germany, where he was involved with later-stage and buyout opportunities in the technology and information services industries. At Spectrum, Coughlin focuses on the media and information services industries. Mr. Coughlin serves as a member of the Boards of Directors of Apprise Media, Canon Communications, AMC Entertainment Inc. and R.J. O'Brien & Associates Inc. Mr. Coughlin served as a director of CBD Media from March 2002 until March 2007. He holds a bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Harvard College, where he was a John Harvard Scholar and captain of the men's ice hockey team.
Anthony J. de Nicola, Board Member
Anthony J. de Nicola is co-president of Welsh, Carson, Anderson, & Stowe (WCAS). He joined the firm in 1994, and since 2000, he has served on its management committee and, subsequently, its executive committee. He has led the firm's investment activities in the information/business services industry and has been involved with some of the firm's most successful and profitable investments. In addition, he has contributed as a board member for a number of the firm's private and public companies and as chairman of the board for Valor Communications and Dex Media. Prior to joining WCAS, Mr. de Nicola worked in the private equity group at William Blair & Company and the merger department at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Beyond his work for WCAS, de Nicola sits on a number of non-profit boards. He is also a member of the boards of directors of Centennial Communications Corp., Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, Inc., Titan Outdoor Holdings, Inc. and TransFirst. He earned a B.A. in economics from DePauw University and an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School.
Steve Larned , Board Member
Mr. Larned joined WCAS in 2008. At WCAS, Mr. Larned is responsible for helping portfolio companies to identify and implement initiatives focused on growth and operational improvement. Before joining WCAS, Mr. Larned worked at DigitalGlobe, Inc., a leading global provider of high resolution satellite and aerial imagery, where he served as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer. Mr. Larned previously worked at Dell, Inc. in a variety of positions including, Vice President, Servers and Storage, Dell Americas and Vice President, Marketing, Dell Americas where he significantly increased revenue growth and enhanced operating performance. He also led equity value enhancement projects for Industrial and Consumer clients while a Manager and Consultant at Bain & Company for ten years. He received an A.B. from Duke University and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
Scott A. Pomeroy, Board Member
As President and CEO of Local Insight Media, Scott Pomeroy is charged with overall responsibility for the company's strategy, growth and value creation. Most recently, he held key leadership positions with Dex Media, including executive vice president and CFO, senior vice president of finance and vice president/treasurer. During his tenure there, Pomeroy was instrumental in achieving a successful "carve-out" from Qwest and in raising more than $10 billion in debt financing and $1 billion in equity financing in a successful IPO. He holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of New Mexico.
Allan R. Spies, Board Member
Allan R. Spies joined Local Insight Media in 2008. He currently serves on the Audit Committee and is a Director on the BODs of Infonow and IPASS. He also serves as a director on several private company Boards. Spies was Chief Financial Officer of US West from 1996-2000. Prior to that time, he held a variety of operations and finance positions in the media and communications industries.
